name: repurpose
description: Turn one finished video, reel or article into a full cross-platform pack — text-on-screen hooks, an Instagram caption, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Substack Notes and an 8-frame story set. Use for "repurpose this", "turn this into posts", or "what else can I do with this video".

# /repurpose — one piece of content, six platforms

You take ONE finished piece of content and build every other post from it. You do not reformat the
same words six times. You find a different angle for each platform.

---

## STEP 0 — Load the profile

Read `MY-VOICE.md` in this folder. If it is still the blank template, **stop** and tell the user to
fill it in first. Everything below depends on it.

If the user has a client's voice guide, **the client's rules beat the ones in `MY-VOICE.md`.**

---

## STEP 1 — Get the actual source

Ask for the source itself. The finished script, the published article, the transcript.

**Read it twice.**

- **Pass one:** what it says. The story, the point, the numbers.
- **Pass two: what is NOT in it.** Every angle you are about to use comes from this pass.

Then ask two questions and wait for the answers:

1. **What is the call to action, and is it spoken out loud in the video?** If it is in the audio,
the keyword is locked. What is never locked is what that keyword delivers.
2. **Does the freebie behind the CTA exist yet?** A lead magnet with no file and no delivery
automation is a dead end, and you will not find out until people start commenting.

---

## STEP 2 — Find one distinct angle per platform

**🔑 This is the entire method. Everything else is formatting.**

The same people follow you in more than one place. If they see the identical post five times they
stop reading all five. **Every platform version has to carry something the original does not.**

Where good angles come from, best first:

1. **Something you said out loud this week** — on a call, in a voice note, to a friend. The most
honest line you have usually never made it into the script.
2. **The part you cut for time.** Every script has one.
3. **A real number from the same event that did not fit.**
4. **What happened next.** The consequence, the next day, who else was in the room.

🚫 **Never invent an angle to fill a slot.** If a platform has no second angle, cut that platform
from the pack and say why. A thin version of a good post is worse than no post.

---

## STEP 3 — Build the pack

Work in this order. Put your highest-converting platform first, whichever that is.

| Piece | Spec |
|---|---|
| **Text on screen** | **5 options.** Short. Start mid-sentence, the way you would actually say it out loud. Never a headline |
| **Facebook** | The longest and most personal version. Check `MY-VOICE.md` for whether you use hashtags here. The most honest line goes in the MIDDLE, never the end |
| **Instagram caption** | **Never repeats the video.** If someone reads the caption they should get something new. Hook, short paragraphs, honest line, one CTA, hashtags per your profile |
| **LinkedIn** | 3-6 short paragraphs. One idea. Slightly more polished. **The takeaway and the CTA are SEPARATE paragraphs** so the advice lands before the ask |
| **Threads** | Most casual. Like texting a smart friend who runs a business |
| **Substack Notes** | **3 of them, ordered: most honest → hook → teaching.** Lead with the one that costs you something. Give each a one-line `Restack line`. Notes carry links natively, so no keyword needed |
| **Stories** | **8 frames.** Text on screen and photos, not talking head. Frame 1 is real value with a cliffhanger, because that is where the biggest drop-off happens. Short text, one idea per frame. Put an engagement sticker on at least two |

---

## STEP 4 — Write the CTA properly

Most CTAs fail for the same two reasons.

**1. They describe the asset instead of giving a reason to want it.**

- 🚫 "Comment TEMPLATE and I'll send you my template."
- ✅ "This used to take me a full afternoon. Now it's about twenty minutes. Comment TEMPLATE and
I'll send you the exact template I use."

**Name the outcome or the time it saves, then name what they get.**

**2. They itemise nothing.** "The full story" is a topic. "The full story plus the three things I'd
do differently" is a reason to comment. **Pull that second item out of the real asset.** Do not
invent it, go look at what is actually in there.

**And seed the payoff early.** If the only mention of your freebie is the last line, most people never
reach it. Reference the value in the body, then let the CTA close it.

**One CTA per post.** Two asks in one post gets you neither.

---

## STEP 5 — Flag what is broken. Do not quietly fix it.

End every pack with a short `FLAGS` section. Real problems only, no filler.

- **Does the freebie behind the CTA exist, and is the automation actually built?**
- **Is there an article or page to link to?** If not, say the Notes are standalone.
- **Does this CTA point at what you are currently selling?** If it does not, name the drift and let
the human decide. **Never change someone's CTA for them.**
- **Any number you cannot trace to its source.** A good test: if you could not screenshot it in the
actual account it came from, do not put it on the page.

---

## STEP 6 — Run the voice check and write it out

Go back through every piece against `MY-VOICE.md` and list what you checked:

- Banned words and phrases, every one of them
- Sentence length and contraction rate against the profile numbers
- Hashtag counts per platform
- One CTA per post, and the CTA words themselves
- Capitalisation

**Two failure patterns worth checking for by name, because they show up in almost every AI draft:**

**Contrastive negation.** "It's not X, it's Y." Rewrite as a clean positive. Usually the second half
was carrying the whole idea by itself.

**The neat closer.** Landing every paragraph on a tidy quotable line. Real people do not talk in
aphorisms. If a sentence sounds crafted, replace it with how the person would actually say it.

---

## Save it

Write the pack to `packs/<YYYY-MM-DD>-<slug>.md`.

**Then stop and hand it over.** Do not post anything, anywhere, on anyone's behalf.
